Wine Tasting Studio at the Hyatt Regency Monterey
McIntyre Vineyards has partnered with the Hyatt Regency Monterey to launch a unique concept in wine tasting that pairs a bevvy of artisanal local products with the award-winning wines from the winery’s impressive portfolio.
Called “The Tasting Studio,” it combines high-end boutique gift items with the experience of tasting premium wines grown in the Santa Lucia Highlands. Wines will be offered in flights, with five wines for $10. A Reserve Flight of special Block K-1 and sparkling wines will also be offered. Wines by the glass may be purchased from the Hyatt in the lounge and in the Tuscan-themed restaurant. Case discounts of 25% are available for those choosing to join the exclusive McIntyre Wine Club.
The McIntyre Tasting Studio offers local and out of town visitors alike an exquisite collection of locally sourced gourmet products, including Lula’s decadent chocolate, Nunes Nuts and Olio Nuevo olive oils. In addition, fresh dried fruits and locally made jellies from local Farmer’s markets are available. The selection of delicious edibles complements the wines and provides the perfect collection of momentos for visitors to take home and relive their fabulous Monterey vacation experience.
The Tasting Studio also offers a convenient place for locals to replenish their supplies of the heavenly delicious Vin’Tucci line of wine infused cookies, offered in traditional Italian flavor combinations, including Spice, which evoke the holidays with clove, cinnamon and cocoa; Anise, which leans more towards biscotti flavors of anise, orange, and almonds; and Honey, which brings back memories of every Italian mother’s homemade “S” cookies.
Equally tasteful is the extensive collection of unique, high-end gallery quality gift items, including stunning photography by Debbie Delatour, handmade jewelry by Barbara Orr, fashionably arty scarves by Sherard Russell, one of a kind original ceramic renderings of local flora and fauna by Polly Aiello, gifts crafted from wine barrels by Coastal Barrel Works, and exquisitely made, individually numbered handbags, wallets, clutches and jewelry by Stella Page Designs. This internationally known designer makes “extraordinary products for extraordinary women,” inspired by art from every corner of the world to create a look that is classic, timeless and contemporary, all at the same time. A Certificate of Authenticity is included with each piece.
Says owner Steve McIntyre, who farms the vineyards where the wines are sourced, “We have been looking for just the right opportunity to share our wines with the public, and a standard tasting room was not our goal. Instead, we wanted to create a new venue and backdrop for visitors to our area to experience not just our great wine, but many of the unique and beautiful foods and specialty items they can only find right here in Monterey wine country. The Hyatt is an ideal partner in this effort, and offers an optimal showcase for carrying out our vision. ”
About McIntyre Wines
McIntyre Wines has deep roots in the now legendary land known as the Santa Lucia Highlands. Founder and farmer, Steve McIntyre, has been practicing the art of sustainable, organic and biodynamic farming for decades, and literally helped “write the book” on sustainable winegrowing in the Santa Lucia Highlands appellation of Monterey. The vineyards from which their high quality, limited production Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Merlot are sourced, have achieved “certified sustainable” status from both the CCVT’s SIP program and the statewide CSWA.
Winemaker Byron Kosuge, a Pinot Noir and Chardonnay specialist, who spent 15 years at Saintsbury Winery, crafts small lots of exceptional Pinot Noir and Chardonnay that embody the mountainous, maritime-influenced terroir from which they originate. Bright, yet elegant, ethereal, yet bold: these are the hallmarks of McIntyre wines. Taste the unmistakable magic of the Highlands in every delicious sip.
