Terrace Hour – Leche Malo
In an evolution of the popular Local’s Lunch Concert Series, Sunset Center is proud to present Terrace Hour. This free locals concert series features local artists selected by Sunset Center staff for a truly for locals, by locals feel. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend – no tickets or reservations required. Let’s start the weekend off right… we’ll see you here at our beautiful, outdoor Terrace Stage at Sunset Center in Carmel-by-the-Sea!
On Friday, September 20th, 2019 from 5:30-7PM we proudly welcome alternative folk rock singer Leche Malo for Sunset Center’s fun new take on their free local’s concert series.
The Monterey County Weekly describes Leche Malo’s latest works as having “almost painfully relatable lyrics, plus a pop-sensical execution”, a description which rings in unison with his blog-given genre “sadcore”. Malo’s songwriting incorporates a methodical blend of humor and drama and his live performances present “song structures that go from verse to chorus to… Pluto, replete with unexpected sonic zigs and zags… expert musicianship… inventive genre-hopping” according to Mike Scutari, owner of The Lab Arts in Carmel.
For this intimate performance Malo’s eccentric guitar work is accompanied by multi-instrumentalist and York School music instructor Noah Reeves on upright bass. Reeves imparts a classical Americana feel onto the music. The two players are known for having captivating banter; an uplifting synergy.
And a very special thank you to our Series Media Sponsor KRML.
