Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival presents Dover Quartet at the New Mexico History Museum
Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival
Thursday, August 18, 12:00 PM

The Dover Quartet—dubbed “the young American string quartet of the moment” by The New Yorker—plays two affecting works: Mozart’s Dissonance String Quartet, whose unusual introduction yields the work’s nickname, and Shostakovich’s String Quartet No. 4 in D Major, Op. 83, filled with complexities and contradictions that reflect the composer’s anguish over the atrocities of World War II and living under Stalin’s regime.
MOZART String Quartet in C Major, K. 465, Dissonance
SHOSTAKOVICH String Quartet No. 4 in D Major, Op. 83
Dover Quartet (Joel Link, Bryan Lee, Milena Pajaro-van de Stadt, Camden Shaw)
