Description:
Tree-hugging theologian and bestselling author Matthew Sleeth, MD (Reforesting Faith; Serve God, Save the Planet; 24/6) brings his earth stewardship message to First Presbyterian Church, 501 El Dorado, Monterey for all-free activities Nov 16-17.

On Nov 16, 8:45 a.m. – 1 p.m., Dr. Sleeth and City of Monterey Interim Urban Forester Justin Prouty invite you to meet them at the church for coffee, etc. and a one-hour workshop on the importance of trees—including as a way to act on climate change / reduce carbon emissions. Carpools will then depart the church for two hours of tree-planting on trails leading from Veterans Memorial Park, followed by a picnic lunch (provided, also at no charge).

Advance sign-ups requested for Nov 16, which allows you to request vegan or other sandwich option, and ensures sufficient trees are available for all participants. All ages are welcome; children under 14 must be accompanied by parent/guardian or other responsible adult. To sign up for Nov 16, and for schedule and details on Nov 16-17 activities, visit the website of our community partner, https://bikemonterey.org/whats-god-got-to-do-with-it.html, or contact organizer Ellen Tucker (831) 831-869-9596 / etucker@fpcmonterey.org.
