The camp is organized by UTEP and is supported by the Texas Workforce Commission. It is designed to highlight and address the stereotypes and stigma the High School students with disability may have about STEM fields. It is expected to increase awareness of educational and career opportunities in STEM field, and educate the stakeholders about equal opportunity. The students will be exposed to interactive and hands-on activities. They will learn introductory concepts in computational engineering and Internet of Things (IoT) and play with some very useful technologies such as Amazon Alexa and Google Home. They will also get a chance to interact with STEM experts and also become more aware of the academic and professional STEM opportunities in a fun and supportive atmosphere. You will have a chance to learn about Internet of Thigs (IoT) abd Computational Engineering. Activities include. – Knowing Smart Home IoT devices: Amazon Alexa and Google Home – Play with Amazon Alexa and Google Home – Know about Computer, Computational Science and Engineering – Play with a Computer Game and Simulated Engineering
