“Upscale casual dining with no equal” is the philosophy upon which Milestone’s unprecedented success was born and continues to thrive. Voted Best Restaurant Chain by the Georgia Straight for the last four years in a row — it’s easy to see why. Executive Chef Jim Romer and his team travel the globe in search of tantalizing new flavours and cooking techniques to incorporate into the lunch, brunch, dinner and bar menus for their 33 restaurants across Canada. “Our guests are not afraid to try dishes that are familiar but with a globally inspired twist — in fact, they crave them!” he explains.

From the Bellini to the Hot Spinach and Artichoke Dip, Milestone’s signature originals are the mainstays of the affordably priced, abundant offerings for which the restaurant chain is known, while newly inspired items from the “Inspirations” menus keep guests coming back for more. These fresh and inspired menus highlight Romer’s most recent travels and change four times a year to reflect the bounty of the season. This year again saw Romer returning to his roots in Mendocino, California, where he met up with internationally renowned chef and author, John Ash, a pioneer of California wine country cuisine. It’s what Romer calls their “innovation highway.”

This year’s summer menu includes big, bold flavours of hot sunny climates. The Grilled Seafood Salad with avocado, papaya and lemon-chardonnay vinaigrette and the Latin kick of their chili-rubbed Certified Angus Beef ® Top Sirloin with tiger prawns in a Brazilian lime sauce are spectacular. Or enjoy an afternoon on the patio sampling internationally inspired beverages: this year they’re featuring the new Brazilian beer Brahma, Mojitos in Classic Mint, Passionfruit, or Blood Orange and try one of their newest beverage creations — the Prickly Pear, Pomegranate, or Passionfruit Margaritas.

All of Milestone’s restaurants boast a stylishly comfortable atmosphere, and attention to detail is defined throughout. Hot Spinach and Artichoke Dip
served with fresh-cut salsa, sour cream, and tortilla chips.

Inspired Calamari with Andouille Sausage
thinly sliced calamari steak, Caribbean-inspired minced spicy sausage, tomato caper sauce and preserved lemon aioli.

Spicy Thai Chicken Drummettes
served with sesame cucumber mayonnaise and peanut sauce.

Baked Goat Cheese and Roasted Garlic
served with three salsas and Indian flatbread.

Entrées

Grilled Seafood Salad
grilled tiger prawns, wild West Coast salmon, sea scallops, bay shrimp, grilled asparagus, avocado, papaya, oven-roasted Roma tomatoes and lemonchardonnay vinaigrette.

Thai Chicken Tacos
Indian flatbread, Asian greens, spicy grilled chicken skewers.

Certified Angus Beef 8oz Top Sirloin
served with a Trio of Milestone’s Signature Global Dipping Sauces.

Slow Roasted Rotisserie AAA Prime Rib
crusted with whole grain mustard, fresh horseradish, cracked black pepper, kosher salt and garlic.

Fire-Grilled Wild Salmon
served with preserved house-made lemon aioli and garnished with a hand-wrapped lemon wedge.

Portobello Mushroom Chicken
with fresh basil, roasted garlic and reduced reggiano cream served over capellini.

Roasted Chicken and Sun-Dried Tomato Penne
with fresh basil and spinach, roasted garlic and asiago cream.

Desserts

Butterscotch Pot de Crème
dark chocolate toffee crunch, premium scotch and dark chocolate cream.

Ibarra Chocolate Cake
Mexican chocolate, caramelized goat milk, vanilla gelato, a drizzle of chocolate and whipped cream.

Ganache Torte
Belgian chocolate, crushed pecan crust, caramel sauce.
