A GuestLife Vancouver
Great Restaurant

For 20 years Vancouver has been home to one of Canada’s few AAA Five Diamond restaurants, an honour the Pan Pacific Vancouver’s Five Sails Restaurant has achieved every year since 1986. One visit and you’ll agree the Five Sails deserves each of these five diamonds: one for the spectacular view; a second for Executive Chef Ernst Dorfler and his contemporary cuisine inspired by the sea; a third for the stellar wine selection; a fourth for the polished and professional service of the Five Sails team overseen by Maitre d’ Richard Ragueneau; and the fifth diamond for the elegantly understated surroundings. All these culminate in a flawless dining experience savoured by enthusiastic regulars and newcomers alike.

The Five Sails defines “dining with a view” in Vancouver. Overlooking the sails of Canada Place, the restaurant looks out over sweeping vistas of Vancouver’s harbour, Stanley Park and the North Shore mountains.

It is not just the spectacular vista that draws diners to the Five Sails Restaurant but the inspiring way that Executive Chef Ernst Dorfler and Five Sails Chef Masa Mabuchi have with ingredients. While remaining fresh and current, they are careful to ensure guest satisfaction, preferring an uncomplicated approach and striving to find purity and a perfect balance in the dishes. Whether you drop in for appetizers and a glass of wine, enjoy a meal from the à la carte or tasting menus or attend a winemakers’ dinner, each dish receives the same careful attention to detail.

Complementing the relaxing atmosphere and culinary excitement, the Five Sails wine cellar reveals breadth, depth and variety. The wine list has an extensive selection of international wines and features an excellent collection of West Coast wines.

If Scotch is more to your taste, there are between 30 and 40 single malts to choose from including a very rare 40-year-old Bowmore. Any of the knowledgeable servers can easily match selections to go with your meal and tempt your palate.

Fine food, warm service and Vancouver’s ultimate drop-dead gorgeous view can be yours too. Sit back, relax, and raise your glass to departing Alaska cruise ships and delight in a sparkling West Coast sunset as it disappears into Coal Harbour, a setting like no other.
