Chilli House Thai Bistro

A GuestLife Vancouver
Great Restaurant

The proud owner of Chilli House Thai Bistro calls this — his twelfth restaurant — his signature achievement. And what an achievement it is! Nestled along the luxurious shoreline of Vancouver’s busy False Creek Marina, the Chilli House’s exterior resembles an elegant, glass-domed Pagoda. Upon passing through its impressive doors, the restaurant’s interior reveals a warm, welcoming, earthy setting complete with traditional handpainted murals and intricately hand-woven tapestries. Every seat in the room has a stellar view as contemporary décor combines with traditional Thai flair to give the Chilli House the reputation for which, after only six months, it has become known — casual elegance, a unique menu, live seafood and a spectacular view.

Specializing in Northern and Southern Thai cuisine, prepared by authentic Thai chefs, there are over 120 items on the menu to choose from. Tapas fare enables patrons to choose from a wide variety of delicacies instead of just one or two. Live, local seafood — crab, lobster, scallops, clams, mussels, oysters and conch — are taken straight from the tank and served up sizzling hot at your table. Stuffed Beach Avenue Mussels diced with tiger prawns, scallops, carrots and broccoli that are steamed, then deep-fried and served with a curry sauce are a Chilli House favourite. As are the Homemade Shrimp Cakes — thin, crunchy, fresh and delicious. There’s also the Chicken Satay and the Organic Spinach Rice — but, hey, it’s tapas: why not try them all!

The second floor VIP room is home to yet an even more breath-taking view both inside and out. Looking up, a magnificent domed ceiling reveals a hand-painted mural of tranquil mountains in a traditional Thai setting, while the view of the harbour seems even more majestic from this vantage point. The VIP room is available for private parties and functions and seats up to thirty people. There is also a heated outdoor patio for those who prefer to be right in the thick of the seawall action.

Whether it’s lunch or dinner, the Chilli House is open seven days a week and offers reasonable prices, friendly, informative service and a uniquely delightful dining experience you won’t soon forget.
