A GuestLife Vancouver
Great Restaurant
Nestled in the heart of Vancouver’s West End near the corner of Denman and Robson, this old world style French bistro beckons invitingly from the street. Stepping inside is like being transported in time and space — dark wood-paneled walls, bistro chairs and rich red and yellow accents complement an enticing array of authentic bistro décor, where truly enchantment seeps from every crevice of the intimate, romantic setting of this lovely room.
Regular patrons of Café de Paris — and there are many — have enjoyed 29 years of this restaurant’s fine food, stellar service and incredible ambiance and always come back for more. “I always loved this restaurant,” says owner Daniel Thomas, who bought the bistro two and a half years ago. “The whole idea of a bistro is that everyone is welcome. We even get regular tourists. Every time they come to town, they eat here.”
Fine dining, commitment to quality and being proud of what we serve is what keeps them coming back, says Thomas. “Our focus is to get the customer the freshest quality item. That’s why we have a daily menu — fresh instead of set. We print a new menu everyday.” The Table d’Hôte is always an excellent choice. A three-course meal with your choice of appetizer, entrée and dessert is, without a doubt, the best value on the menu. And while some of the bistro’s regulars prefer the cassoulet, lots of people come for the poulet fermier roti, others still, come for the steak aux poivres and everybody loves the pommes frites.
Complementing an already stellar menu, Premier Chef, Scott E. Kidd brought his considerable talents, passion and unique flair to the bistro just one year ago, setting a new standard for excellence. “Scott’s style is really creative but his true gift is how he balances his food and brings every bite to perfection,” says Thomas.
Everything in the restaurant is made on the premises, including the breads and the desserts. Authentic to the core, Café de Paris delivers it all in true bistro style. Even the extensive wine list lives to enhance the flavour of this award-winning venue. A wonderful array of French and BC wines are guaranteed to satisfy any palate. Open seven nights a week and weekdays at lunch, Café de Paris provides an intimate setting to get away from it all and enjoy life in a casual, friendly atmosphere.
