2009 Fall Fiesta at The Santa Fe Farmers Market at The Railyard
The Santa Fe Farmers' Market Institute's 2009 Fall Fiesta, which is coming up next Saturday, October 3 at 6 pm, is going to be a wonderful harvest celebration to raise money to support the Institute's operations and programs! We urge you to buy your tickets now so you won't miss out.
This year we are serving family style at the table to avoid the long buffet line. Wines are being provided by La Casa Sena Wine Shop, and have been carefully selected to complement the meal. We're featuring another wonderful menu this year, so I wanted to share it with you:
Appetizers
From Tom Kerpon, Rio Chama Steakhouse: Curried Shepherd's Lamb on Mushroom Flatbread with a ginger, tomato, mint chutney
From Tim Butterly, Corazon: Beet, fennel and goat feta skewers
From Roland Richter, Joe's Diner: Roland's Seasonal Surprise
Entrees/Sides
From Patrick Gharrity, La Casa Sena: Braised grassfed local beef in a veal-tamari consomme with local mushrooms and parsnips
From Rocky Durham, Santa Fe School of Cooking: Vegetarian Tamales Encantados with corn, chile squash and other indigenous local produce. “Corn husks wrapped around 2500 years of local, agrarian history,” says Rocky
From Louis Moskow, Bistro 315 and Railyard Restaurant & Saloon: Kimchee Potato Cakes with roasted carrots, parsnips, beets, and garlic
Salad
From Erin Wade, Vinaigrette: Apple and goat feta chopped arugula salad with pickled fennel and baby greens
Bread
From Willem Malten, Cloudcliff Bakery: Baguettes made from local wheat.
Desserts
From Leslie Campbell, La Boca and Delicasa: Local raspberry and goat cheese pannacotta with honey rosemary glaze
From Maria Bustamante Bernal, The Treehouse Pastry Shop and Café: Luscious brownie bites made with local wheat and Farmers' Market pecans
From Kim Muller and Andrew MacLauchlan, Real Food Nation: Northern New Mexico apple surprise
The vendors of the Santa Fe Farmers' Market are providing all the food. Our culinary coordinator is Erica Peters of Contoured Cooking LLC.
Come enjoy this delicious local feast and help the Institute raise operating money for the following programs:
Micro Loans for farmers
EBT/Food Stamp Program at the Market
Winter Movie Series
Working to save small farms throughout northern NM
Bringing more events to the Market Hall Pavilion
