The Chimayó Trading and Mercantile Building, more than 100 years old, is a local landmark. The historic adobe gallery offers art from locally and nationally known artists. The collection includes Pueblo Indian pottery, paintings, Hopi kachinas, and bronze sculptures. Chimayó's own jewelry line is created on premises; the gallery also carries Navajo, Zuni, and Santo Domingo jewelry and contemporary and historical Chimayó and Navajo weavings. When in Taos, visit our second location at the St. Francis Church Plaza in Ranchos De Taos.

Located in the heart of Old Town Cimarron, the gallery features Steve’s expressive portraits, each a dynamic color representation of his subjects. His photography is primarily of local architecture, wildlife, and landscapes. Sherry’s sculptures incorporate the region’s historical and ethnic spirit in nonrepresentational and representational works. Her materials include wood, paper, metal, and concrete.

L. Martin Pavletich Studio

Located in “New Town” Cimarron, the studio was purchased in 2004 by artist L. Martin Pavletich and converted the 1,000-square-foot studio. The renovation preserves some Cimarron history and offers customers a special and casual venue to view his work.

This studio/gallery of David Perez Escudero exhibits his representational oil depictions of northern New Mexico landscapes. He also creates abstract geometric paintings in acrylic, using burlap and string, as well as Pop art depictions of Native Americans and cowboys.

Operated by owner/jeweler Andrea Gottschalk — a native of Germany trained since she was 16 in the old European style of goldsmithing — the space exhibits her hand-fabricated works, each using little or no prefabricated pieces. She also showcases other area artists’ work.

Montibon (photographic, post-digital mixed media), Julia Ford (photographer and mixed media), and Rita-T (abstract, acrylic painter who paints in bold, textured swaths of light and color) — created an environment with a QSC/JBL sound reinforcement system to host live music, lectures, workshops, panel discussions, other meetings or for uses as a location for film, television or commercial productions, and special events.

Gary Fey has been creating batik designs, mostly on silk, for longer than 30 years. He sold designs to many top fashion designers in the 1970s. Gary holds receptions with refreshments every first Saturday, when he showcases new work and greets visitors. He also teaches batik classes and workshops.
