This one was rewarded with an instructional aerobatic flight in a beautifully restored 1945 Navy SNJ. Instructor Ken Kalstad, an ex-navy F/A-18 pilot, brings the SantaFeTopGun experience of aerial tours, thrill rides, and flight instruction to aviation enthusiasts ranging in age from 10 to 85. But what Ken says he values most about his so-called “job” is the opportunity that it affords him to combine the powerful allure of aviation with an incredible, graceful airplane and his own navy experience to reward, motivate, and inspire amazing young people like Merry.
