516 ARTS is an independent, nonprofit art space located in the center of Downtown Albuquerque. The spacious two-story gallery is a unique, hybrid venue somewhere between a gallery and museum, which was launched as generator of arts and culture in the city's urban core. The adventurous exhibitions program features high caliber, content-driven work through a series of collaborations, bringing together a mix of local, national and international artists working in all visual media. R.C. Gorman (1931-2005) founded his Navajo Gallery in 1968. Located on historic Ledoux Street, one block south of the Taos Plaza, it is now one of the oldest galleries in Taos. The gallery offers a diversity of Gorman's many media in order to provide visitors a wide choice of collectibles. Original oil pastel drawings, paintings, original lithographs and serigraphs, bronzes, ceramics, hand-signed posters, and books are available. The gallery is open 11 a.m.-5 p.m.
