Fine Dining at the End of the Trail

The Ore House

A GuestLife New Mexico
Great Chef

When Santa Fe’s famous sunsets turn the Plaza into gold, the best place to be is on the balcony of The Ore House, sipping a margarita and watching the world go by. With one of the best views of the city’s Plaza, The Ore House also happens to be well loved by locals and visitors alike as one of the finest purveyors of eating and drinking for 28 years.

No matter the season or the appetite, The Ore House offers hearty hospitality that can please any palate. The Balcony — open year-round — features a daily "Balcony Hour" from 4 to 6 p.m. with complimentary hors d'oeuvres. Known as "Margarita Headquarters," The Ore House features 50 tequilas and over 50 special custom margaritas, as well as hundreds of margarita combinations featuring the finest 100% agave silver, gold and anejo tequilas from Mexico.

While margaritas and Plaza views are an unbeatable combination, they’re just a part of an enjoyable dining experience offered by The Ore House. Inside, a cozy warmth beckons with a menu full of selections as satisfying as the atmosphere. Specializing in the finest cuts of meat and the freshest seafood in the Rocky Mountains, the presentation is uniquely Southwestern with the wonderful addition of New Mexico’s famous red and green chiles in sauces and salsa made daily on the premises.

Lunch specialties feature such Santa Fe favorites as Plato de Santa Fe, hearty Burgers Grande and the Blackened Chicken Salad made with mixed gourmet greens, ruby grapes and mandarin oranges with a tamari sesame dressing.

Dinner is a more elegant affair with a tantalizing selection of Corn-Fed Aged Black Angus Beef, Roasted Prime Rib, Classic Filets, a prime rack of New Zealand Lamb and the freshest grilled, blackened or sautéed seafood — served with your choice of specialty chile sauces and butters.

Sauces vary with offerings such as habañero fruit salsa or charred tomato salsa as well as the regularly featured favorites: red chile piñon pesto butter and lime scampi butter. Each of these chiles adds its own unique flavoring to the dish — whether hot and spicy or smoky and sweet — so be sure to ask your server about the difference! Dinner also features several delicious chicken dishes, vegetarian specials and wonderful meals for “Kids Only.”

This exceptional fare is complemented by one of the best wine lists in the world. As the winner of Wine Spectator's Award of Excellence since 1993, The Ore House has a wine to suit every taste, including its own special label of New Mexico vintage Merlot and Chardonnay. The Ore House continues its tradition of excellence by offering a tempting variety of homemade desserts.
