Continuing The Legacy Of Celebrated Artist Richard MacDonald

Monterey Bay's Great Galleries

Anyone who strolls the streets of Carmel for an afternoon will begin to feel like a veteran art collector: even a window shopper will find themselves building an ideal collection in their mind’s eye. It is the perfect place to forge a connection with a gallery, building the trust and relationship that will be the underpinning of a good collection — however modest — or lavish — the intended scope. Dawson Cole Fine Art has a long history in Carmel, representing one of Carmel’s foremost resident artists of international acclaim, Richard MacDonald, and they understand the importance of the gallery relationship to successful collecting.

Collectors should look for a gallery of integrity and expertise, where quality and value are thoroughly understood and well communicated. With a third Carmel location opening this year, Dawson Cole Fine Art exemplifies those ideals, and has been a strong presence in the area for many years. To complement the ongoing connection with the fine figurative art of Richard MacDonald, the gallery presents original drawings, paintings, and works on paper by important American and contemporary artists such as Chuck Close, Paul Gaughin, Henry Moore, Pablo Picasso, Jian Wang, and Robert Heindel.

Known for his achievements in bronze sculpture, including permanent public monuments such as The Flair in Atlanta to commemorate the Olympic Games in 1996, and Momentum which celebrates 100 years of the U.S. Open Golf Tournament in Pebble Beach, Richard MacDonald has built an impressive career by redefining figurative sculpture for a contemporary audience.

The newest location for Dawson Cole Fine Art will be an impressively large space, well suited to feature Richard MacDonald’s “Heroic” works or larger-than-life sculptures. Additionally, the gallery has planned exhibitions to showcase the work of the artists it represents: including a group showing of 20th Century Modern Masters, and solo exhibitions by Jian Wang, Chuck Close, Bernie Fuchs, and of course, Richard MacDonald.

Experience the American Renaissance of Figurative art, with all its energy, joy, and passion at Dawson Cole Fine Art, and learn how to fully understand and appreciate the art you love.
