Thomas Kinkade — "The Painter of Light," uses techniques reminiscent of 19th-century luminists. His paintings simply glow as they illustrate cozy cottages, country churchyards, idyllic cityscapes and dramatic Western landscapes. "I try to create paintings that are a window for the imagination," says Kinkade. "If people look at my work and are reminded of the way things once were or perhaps the way they could be, then I’ve done my job."
