Dominic's

A GuestLife El Paso
Great Restaurant

Fond memories of Grandmother's home cooking are the inspiration for one of El Paso's most elegant and delectable dining experiences, Dominic's Italian Restaurant. The restaurant takes its name from the family’s matriarch, Katherine Dominic John. Brothers Michael and John Paul, and their father, Richard John, worked hard to keep the family tradition alive in the original downtown location. After 14 years, they relocated the restaurant to a higher profile location in El Paso's east/central area/airport area.

Dominic's is one of the most innovative restaurants along the Southwest Borderplex. A combination of Old World tastes and modern gourmet combine exquisitely to a blend of Northern and Southern Italian cuisine. A staff awaits you that is both friendly and professional and is happy to attend to your every need. The elegant décor perfectly complements a menu which is as diverse as it is extensive.

While traditional favorites are readily available, the kitchen's skilled chefs are happy to customize orders. Some of the more intriguing dishes include the Stuffed Portabello Mushroom Cap appetizer, filled with Italian sausage and cheese in a wine glaze. The salads include the refreshing, yet zesty Mediterranean Salad, with diced tomatoes and scallions, minced garlic and fresh squeezed lemon juice.

For entrées Dominic's offers an array of steaks and seafood unlike anyone else in town. The steaks range from the 8-ounce Filet Mignon or the 16-ounce Rib Eye served with vegetables and pasta. Jazz up your steak and order it Saltimbocca style, which includes a topping of melted mozzarella, prosciutto ham and mushrooms in a Marsala wine sauce. The Veal Osso Buco is a veal shank roasted for five hours and made fresh daily. Dominic’s also offers a great variety of seafood from Lobster Tail and Alaskan King Crab legs, to a large selection of shrimp dishes. One of the signature dishes is the Seafood Angelica, which includes mussels, shrimp, scallops, crab meat as well as artichoke hearts in a delicious Lemon Basil Cream Sauce, served over pasta.

The delightful in-house Chocolat Café serves a great breakfast and wonderful deli sandwiches for a quick lunch. Desserts are the specialty: Try the fresh-made daily Tiramisú — Ladyfingers in Italian coffee, smothered in a cream custard topped with cocoa powder. Hand-dipped chocolate strawberries and cherries are favorites; order one or a thousand depending on your chocolate addiction. Chocolat Café’s dessert selection also includes handmade Double Chocolate Cake, Carrot Cake, Spumoni, German Chocolate Cake, Canoli, New York Cheesecake with cherries and Dipped Biscotti.

Dominic's full-service bar specializies in exotic martinis, margaritas and frozen drinks. More than 150 wines from every region imaginable insures something for everyone. Live entertainment in the Piano Bar every Thursday-Saturday night from 7:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. with a cigar-friendly patio. Easy access, one block east of Airway.
